COP KILLER HAD EXTENSIVE RECORD....SORT-OF

by Bob Walsh

There was a police shooting in Sacramento County, CA. a few days ago. Deputy Mark Stasyuk was killed and another deputy was wounded. They are both white. The shooter was Anton Lemon Moore, 38, of Rancho Cordova. He is black. He had a 20-year record including several crimes of violence involving the discharge firearms. They had all been bargained down on had gone away, though he was prohibited from possessing firearms for ten years on the basis of one of those convictions.

The two cops moved in on Moore in response to a call of a disturbance from a local business. As they approached he turned away, took a couple of steps, then stopped, turned back with a gun in his hand and opened fire on the officers, hitting both. He caught at least one round in the process and attempted to flee. At that time a LOT of other cops showed up. Moore was taken into custody and is almost certain to survive. An employee of the store was also shot, apparently by Moore though that isn't certain yet. That person was in the hospital for less than one day.

It isn't rocket science. If you tolerate bad behavior you get more bad behavior. When you excoriate cops (mostly white cops) for any sort of negative interaction with black men, no matter what the cause or justification, criminals will be emboldened. It truly is that simple.
