The president of the Chicago Police Union has called for Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx to resign, claiming she has displayed a trend not to pursue felony charges.

Kevin Graham said the decision to drop all charges against Smollett was the 'tip of the iceberg' for local authorities upset with Foxx, noting that the city's Fraternal Order of Police took a formal vote to show the group's lack of support for her.

'We're saying: this is enough,' Graham said during an appearance on 'America's Newsroom' on Friday. 'We're asking for her to step down, the FOP in Chicago took a vote of no confidence and so did the police chiefs around Cook County.'

Foxx responded with a statement that she would continue serving the people who elected her through the end of her term, and might seek re-election in November of 2020.

'I was elected by the people of Cook County to pursue community safety, prevent harm, and uphold the values of fairness and equal justice,' Foxx said in the statement.

'I’m proud of my record in doing that, and I plan to do so through the end of my term and, if the people so will it, into the future.'

Although the city's decision to drop 16 felony charges against Smollett may have been a breaking point, Graham said there's much more to his issues with Foxx, who he said has a history of failing to pursue serious charges.

'We have had problems getting felony charges approved for battery to police officers,' Graham said.

'I've had officers, in my office, where their kneecaps were broken, where their fingertips were nearly bit off, and we can't get felony charges approved on this.'

Graham added: '[W]e'd like to have her step down and have someone in there who is actually going to prosecute cases. We want her to do her job.'

Foxx is a corrupt political hack, which is par for the course in Chicago.
