U S GETTING READY TO TERMINALLY REHABILITATE THE FIRST WOMAN PRISONER IN 70 YEARS

by Bob Walsh

If all goes according to plan on December 8 Lisa Montgomery will find out if there is really life after death.

In 2004 she strangled and killed Bobbie Jo Stinnett, 23, in Skidmore, MO.  She then cut Stinnett open and took her baby.  She attempted to pass the baby off as her own.  Her lawyer tried a psych defense.  The jury didn't buy it.  She crossed state lines to commit her crime which I am guessing is the source of the federal involvement.  Possibly the kidnapping of the baby as well.

Assuming this actually happens she will be the ninth federal prisoner to take the long walk since July of this year, after a 20-year hiatus.  In the prior 56 years the feds have only executed three prisoners.  There are two more in addition to Montgomery scheduled to see what's on the other side this calendar year.
