Kamala Harris said Biden administration failed to see Omicron coming, and blamed scientists for not being able to anticipate Delta variant  

Kamala Harris sat down with the Los Angeles Times for an interview on December 17 and during the conversation, admitted that the Biden administration didn't expect the Covid-19 virus to mutate into variants that now pose a grave danger and have prolonged the ongoing pandemic. 800,000 Americans have lost their battle against the diseases caused by the virus, and Harris said they underestimated the role misinformation played in this situation. She then seemed to shift the blame on the scientists for which she was lambasted on the Internet. 

“We didn’t see Delta coming. I think most scientists did not — upon whose advice and direction we have relied — didn’t see Delta coming,” she said. “We didn’t see Omicron coming. And that’s the nature of what this, this awful virus has been, which as it turns out, has mutations and variants.” Earlier this year, Joe Biden in a spirited July 4 speech, declared, "While the virus hasn’t been vanquished, we know this: It no longer controls our lives. It no longer paralyzes our nation. And it’s within our power to make sure it never does again.” In her office in the West Wing of the White House, Harris spoke to Noah Bierman on a range of topics including immigration, women's health, and her role as the epoch-making leader. However, she repeatedly circled back to the chief challenge that the Biden-Harris administration is facing and that is the handling of the pandemic which has worsened due to Omicron.

'Proof that the blind is leading the blind' says Internet over Harris's comments

The Internet is brimming with comments, majorly trolling Harris for her comments during the LA Times interview and the blame-shifting. "Proof that the blind is leading the blind. Variant after Variant, Booster after Booster all leading to a Variant which evades all Vaccines!" wrote a Twitter user. "Let's be HONEST. KAMALA Harris, and Joe Biden, and ANY OTHER MFer out there that says, "We didn't expect DELTA, or OMICRON" is a very IGNORANT HOOMAN. VIRUSES by Nature Mutate. This is just more proof that we need to elect people to offices from PREZ to SENS that deserve it," read another tweet. "Its been in the news since it was first discovered and Biden did nothing and allowed it into the Us what a terrible job the dimocrats are doing," a third tweeted. 

"@NewsHour survey says ehh wrong again. @JoeBiden is doing a horrible job. All his promises have failed. Inflation is out of control. The supply problem raises prices. Now OMICRON. And @POTUS does nothing to protect Americans. @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris have failed their promise," a fourth commented. "Thankfully for America, this statement is patently false. Even if @VP herself was genuinely too stupid to see delta or omicron coming, I can assure you that literally *every* scientist & MD in the field did explicitly predict this," noted another.

Kamala Harris had a heated exchange with Charlamagne Tha God 

 

Vice President Kamala Harris lashed out at radio host Charlamagne Tha God for asking if Joe Biden was the 'real president' during her appearance on his talk show. On his Comedy Central show on Friday, December 17, Charlamagne asked the VP why she and President Joe Biden were unable to press their flagship $1.75 trillion Build Back Better legislation.

His incessant line of questioning angered Harris so much that her aide, Symone Sanders, stepped in front of the camera, saying that they had to end the interview and leave immediately.  "They're acting like they can't hear me," the 43-year-old host said, as Sanders attempted to block the camera and stop the interview.

Looking serious, Harris stared at Charlamagne and replied: "I can hear you." At this point, Charlamagne repeated his question. "So who's the real president of this country? Is it Joe Manchin or Joe Biden?" he asked, to which Harris replied, "Come on, Charlamagne. Come on. It's Joe Biden." When Charlamagne commented, saying, "I can't tell sometimes," Harris visibly bristled. She wagged her finger at the host and said, "No, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's Joe Biden, and don't start talking like a Republican about asking whether or not he's president. And it's Joe Biden. And I'm vice president and my name is Kamala Harris."

Biden's failure to convince Manchin to vote for the $1.75 trillion domestic investment program

Charlamagne's frustration was rooted in the fact that Biden was unable to convince West Virginia Senator Manchin to vote for his $1.75 trillion domestic investment program and major election reforms, which had a self-imposed Christmas deadline. Manchin's stubborn refusal to back the government's plans put in jeopardy the continuation of an expanded child tax credit for some 3.6 million poor families, which expires on December 31.

Harris told Charlamagne on Friday that the administration had already achieved a list of policies and plans. "I hear the frustration. but let's not deny the impact that we've had, and agree also that there is a whole lot more work to be done. And it is not easy to do, but we will not give up. And I will not give up," she concluded. Charlamagne replied: "I just want you to know, Madame Vice President, that Kamala Harris, that's the one I like. That's the one that was putting the pressure on people in Senate hearings. That's the one I'd like to see more often out here in these streets."

'VP ate Charlemagne up'

The clip of the exchange went viral on Twitter and people came up with all kinds of mixed reactions. While some of them praised Harris for going off on Charlamagne, others thought that the host's line of questioning was apt. "When a black woman adjusts her seat and gets into the 'let me tell you one gotdamn thing' pose you know you've gone too far. she was really restrained here," one of them said, while another noted, "Whew! @VP ate Charlemagne up! 'It’s Joe Biden, and I'm Vice President, and my name is Kamala Harris.' Stop playing with her." A third wrote, "I like how Kamala Harris went off on Charlemagne the god that was cute now she needs to keep that same energy with Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema but we know she won’t."

One more commented, "Kamala Harris going on a Charlemagne TV show to have him disrespect her is us actually living in the movie Idiocracy." The next remarked, "Majority of older Black people are super ok with 'representation' democrats haven’t done shit for us in the last 25 years but they screaming 'Yas sis' cause Kamala Harris started yelling and Charlemagne." Another noted, ".@VP gathered his ass with receipts and said put some respect on our names." One more said, "Charlemagne asked Kamala Harris a 100% legit question, and Kamala went into this performative 'sista gurl' act as a deflection. And now the Bidensexuals are trying to spin this as if she 'gathered' Charlemagne."

A commenter tweeted, "She went back to her Senate hearing days on ole Charlamagne." Another said, "Kamala Harris yelling at Charlemagne because he asked her if Joe Biden us really running things during their interview is absolutely hilarious.. his question is 100% valid and for her to yell and deflect is very telling. Bunch of dorks in the political world it’s sad." A person reacted with, "Reecie…did you see the @VP gather Charlemagne up like the boss she is. Ya’ll must have forgotten who Kamala Harris is. She doesn’t play the Vice President on TV…she IS the Vice President of the United States. Don’t get it twisted. #SkeeWee."
