According to various court watchers it is very likely
that SCOTUS is going to come down on the side of the good guys when they
get around to issuing a decision on the New York gun permit case. They
seem to be thinking, based on the questions asked, that there is little
to no doubt that the court will overturn the "you gotta have a reason, a
friend in a high place or a lot of money" gun permit justification in
places like N Y C or, by extension, the NOBODY HAS A GOOD ENOUGH REASON
in Hawaii, L A AND S F.
The
speculation I have seen seems to be on what specific areas, i.e.
schools, bars and government buildings, the court will allow state and
local jurisdictions, to prohibit weapons.
Of
course, this could be pure bullshit. It isn't a done deal until you
can stick a fork in it and it doesn't squeal. We should hear in the
next week or two if all goes well.
