A 2-month-old boy who died after he was found unconscious in a Staten Island home had ingested meth, police said.
The death of a 2-month-old boy who had been found unconscious in Staten Island three months ago has been ruled a homicide — with authorities saying the infant ingested meth.
Little Paulie Khan of Barnegat, NJ, was discovered unresponsive inside the home on Arden Avenue near Arthur Kill Road in Village Greens — where his mom was visiting someone — around noon March 8, authorities said.
His mother called 911, and the baby was rushed to Staten Island University South Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police initially said the boy had no signs of trauma.
But the city medical examiner’s office later ruled the death a homicide
He died of “acute methamphetamine intoxication,” according to the city medical examiner’s office and a death certificate obtained by the Richmond County District Attorney’s Office.
No arrests had been made by Friday morning, and the investigation is ongoing, cops said.
