A Palestinian terrorist on Tuesday wounded seven people in north Tel Aviv. Later identified as Hassin Khalila, the terrorist was a 23-year-old Hebron-area resident. He drove his car onto the sidewalk and struck two groups of pedestrians. He then got out of the car and attacked people with a knife.

Armed civilians and a police officer who witnessed the incident intervened and shot the assailant. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Among the injured are a 46-year-old woman in serious condition with multiple internal injuries, two victims in their 30s in moderate condition and two people with minor injuries.

The Palestinian terror group Hamas hailed the attack as “heroic revenge for the military operation in Jenin.” The IDF is currently conducting a large-scale military operation in the city of Jenin in northern Samaria.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich commented on the attack, emphasizing the need for national unity and determination in the face of terror. He said: “Our enemies want to harm us in Tel Aviv, in Eli and throughout Israel, and against this we must show unity and determination. Our heroic soldiers continue to work to deal a blow to the terrorists and their henchmen in Jenin, and we pray for their well-being and success. The Israel Defense Forces will hold accountable anyone who tries to harm us.”

A pregnant woman, one of seven people injured in a terrorist attack in Tel Aviv yesterday, has lost her baby, the Israeli embassy in Washington tweeted.

The embassy previously wrote of the attack, “There is no moral equivalence, no justification. Acts of Palestinian terrorism are fueled by an ideology of antisemitic hatred that vilifies the Jewish people.”

“Terrorism strikes again in the streets of Tel Aviv today,” tweeted Melissa Lantsman, a Jewish member of the Canadian Parliament.

“Praying for the full recovery of those injured in todays stabbing attack and car ramming attack. One victim— a pregnant woman who was wounded has lost her child as a result of her own injuries. An absolute tragedy,” she added. Another horrific act of terror, another incident the world won’t condemn.”

“If this doesn’t make you angry then we don’t know what will,” added HonestReporting Canada. “For any parent, this is the unimaginable and beyond devastating. May the baby’s memory be for a blessing.”
