THE END OF AN ERA

The California Youth Authority, once the worlds leader in rehabilitative treatment of juvenile criminals, is now history.

The agency, that has of late been known as the Division of Juvenile Justice, folded up it's tent on June 30.  The "clients" of the system have been spread thru the 58 counties, many of which are NOT prepare to deal with disturbed, dangerous, violent "children."

The current law requires the counties to use "evidence based" and trauma informed" services to "rehabilitate" dangerous and violent murderers, armed robbers, rapists and other misunderstood youth.

Few (if any) of the counties have physical facilities to cope with these "clients" let alone an adequate number of staff trained at a level to deal with them.

It will be interesting to see when (not if) the excrement hits the air circulation devices in these "juvenile rehabilitation facilities."  I will be among the first to say WE TOLD YOU SO.
