ILLINOIS JUMPING ON THE CRAZY TRAIN

By Bob Walsh

Alyssa Pamplona, office manager of 8-Ball Bail Bonds, 1114 S. Main St., said business ebbs and flows but seems to pick up in the summer. (F. Andrew Taylor/View)

"Mierda, esto me deja sin negocio."

The institution of Cash Bail is no longer functional in the Land of Lincoln.  Suspected miscreant will either be held without bail as a threat to public safety or will hit the bricks shortly after arrest.  Courtrooms are being set up in larger jails for the expressed purpose of evaluating intake for retention or otherwise.

What the hell.  It works good for New York City (doesn't it?), so why shouldn't it work for Illinois.
