Philadelphia Municipal Judge Wendy Pew ruled today that
all charges against Philadelphia PD officer Mark Dial in the death of
Eddie Irizarry on August 14th must be dropped, including the murder
charge. Dial had been on bail but the prosecution had his bail revoked
by asserting that the murder charge made him ineligible for bail.
The
cops THOUGHT Irizarry had a gun. In fact he had a knife, which he was
holding alongside his leg. The cops stopped him and officer Dial walked
up on the driver's side. His partner, Michael Morris, and the body cam
footage supported Officer Dial. Irizarry's window was rolled up at the
time the shots were fired, which would have certainly inhibited the
knife Irizarry did have but would not have inhibited the gun which they
THOUGHT he had.
The PD is
asserting that Dial refused to cooperate with their investigation and
suspended him with the intent to dismiss. It is not clear what the
status of the department investigation is.

Based on a cursory knowledge of this event sounds like the judge is full if shit. But the guy sounds like a scum bag so no one will really care.
So the cop is punished for not participating in his own investigation? What happened to "You Have the Right to Remain Silent." Glad I'm retired.
Terms of employment, same as everyone else in the world.
