Hunter Biden INDICTED on three felony charges for lying about being on drugs when he

President Biden's son Hunter was indicted by Special Counsel David Weiss on federal felony gun charges Thursday. According to the indictment, Hunter lied about his drug use when he purchased a gun in 2018.

A Delaware grand jury returned multiple felony charges against Hunter, including two counts of false statements on his gun forms, and one of possessing a firearm while addicted to illicit drugs.

The move by Weiss is a significant escalation in his investigation into the president's son for gun and tax crimes. It comes the same week that Republicans in the House opened a formal impeachment inquiry into President Biden for his alleged connections to Hunter's business dealings.

The First Son purchased the 0.38 caliber pistol in Delaware, a state that makes any buyer answer a series of questions before they can lay their hands on a weapon. One from the 2018 application asks if the applicant uses or is addicted to drugs. The box is clearly checked 'no.'

The maximum time in prison would be 25 years total if he is convicted on all of the counts. He could also be slapped with a max $250,000 fine and three years probation.

HUNTER BIDEN INDICTED ..... BIG WHOOP

All this really means is that Weiss does not have the balls to tank the whole thing by letter the clock run out.  I guess he would like to try to hold on to a shred of his dignity and professional reputation.  It means nothing.  Many things will have to happen downstream to have this be even remotely meaningful.

One of the more interesting things I heard on the radio today as I was running errands was the notion that maybe Joe will pardon Hunter AND Trump, to show how inclusive, even-handed and wonderful a person he really is.  The suggestion was not offered completely in jest.  It would, in theory, offer Joe the best of both worlds.  His son would be off the hook (at least on the gun charge, which is what he was indicted on) and Trump would still be thought by many to be guilty anyway.  (Maybe, maybe not.)

Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing (maybe).
