The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has just given the
God-Emperor of the formerly great state of California, Gavin (God I Hate
Guns) Newsom a good backhand across the face.
Last
year he signed into law a very badly worded piece of legislation that
makes it illegal to market guns to children. It allows for massive
civil fines. Some gun stores no longer even allow people under 18 into
the store for fear that some asshole will make a complaint and they will
get nailed with a $10,000 fine for attempting to market a gun to a
kid. Even such things a baseball caps or t-shirts with a logo on them
could meet the mark.
In any
event the court decided (correctly IMHO) that this was bullshit and a
serious violation of the rights of free speech of gun makers,
distributors, sellers, etc. Sometimes they get it right.
