WATER WATER EVERYWHERE

By Bob Walsh

The people who keep track of and predict such things assert that there is a very strongly probability that the El Nino weather pattern will continue thru the coming Spring, which will likely bring the formerly great state of California a relatively wet Winter and Spring.

Water project managers are already drawing reservoirs down somewhat in anticipation they will need the storage space.  They are also advance buying sand bags, just in case.

West and Central Texas is in a prolonged drought. We need the rain because our aquifers are nearly empty. The state even caught a rancher in Mason County building an illegal long concrete damn in Central Texas stealing water headed for the Austin area. That caused the state to look at satellite images from previous years. They found a large percentage of the land owners now have large ponds that were not visible before. The number of water storage methods are decreasing water that naturally flowed into the Edwards Aquifer. This is primarily rain water run off that is now being captured. Sounds like an old Western Range War developing except it's being done today.
