I happened to be doing some name digging a while back and
discovered that, as far as is known KATZ is the oldest continuously
used family name in existence, at least in the west.
I
strongly suspect that many users of the name use it in a shortened
form, originally something else, you would know better than me
probably. I just thought you might find it interesting / amusing.
