THERE IS NO RIGHT TO SHOOT SOMEBODY BY ACCIDENT

By Bob Walsh

Lufkin man gets life in prison for fatal shooting of wife

In the very early hours of Saturday the Sacramento 911 call center got a call from a 50-year old man who said he accidentally shot his wife in the shoulder.  The cops and the ambulance showed up.  The victim was conscious and alert and was hauled away.  There were no uninvolved witnesses to the incident.  Allegedly they heard something go bump in the night and the man got his gat and went to investigate.  In the process his gun discharged, striking his wife.  The couple both insist the incident was an accident and not deliberate.  There were no signs of any sort of fight or domestic dispute.

The man is now in the slammer on charges of negligent discharge of a firearm.  He will be arraigned on Wednesday.

You never know.  They could both be telling the truth.  It could have happened that way.

No signs of domestic abuse? The case won'y fly without a complainant. Sounds like the cops made a "Just in case arrest."
