CA ELECTRIC TRUCK LAWSUIT

The American Free Enterprise Chamber of Commerce, being fronted by former attorney general Bill Barr, has just filed suit in federal court against the state of California over the state's recent move to effectively ban liquid fuel internal combustion engine large commercial vehicles in four years.

The technical basis for the suit is that in order to do this the state must apply for a wavier of the Clean Air Act from the EPA.  This waiver is allegedly necessary because the new regulation is significantly more stringent than the federal requirement.

I hope it gets some traction.  Can you imagine what it would do to distribution costs if diesel trucks went away?  Trucks would be basically limited to moving about 200 miles per day and would carry significantly less cargo by weight than they do now because of the weight of the battery packs.  This says nothing about the incredible cost of the new vehicles and the freezing out of small and medium-size operators.

How wonderful will virtue signaling be when you can't buy designer water and arugula in your favorite grocery emporium because it is stuck on a truck in Bakersfield waiting for a battery charge?
