Roger Hanks was taken into custody Thursday night for the killing of his wife and daughter.
Accidents happen. Stupid happens. People do shoot
themselves by being careless cleaning their guns. People even shoot
other people legitimately by accident while cleaning their guns. I have
never heard of anybody shooting TWO people "by accident" while cleaning
his gun.
Roger Hanks, 76,
is in custody in East Marlborough Township, PA after shooting his wife,
Judith Hanks, 75, and his daughter, Emily Hanks, 37, shortly after an
admitted family dispute.
Allegedly
Hanks warned and then shot his wife, a situation witnessed by the
daughter. She then charged at daddy and he (allegedly) plugged her as
well. Both women died.
About
three hours AFTER the shooting Hanks mentioned to his family that he
had shot and killed his wife and daughter. The neighbor called the
cops. At some time during questioning Hanks apparently admitted to the
cops that he shot both women deliberately.
He
is current a guest of the people at the Chester County Jail facing two
charges of 1st degree murder. If found guilty the penalty is LWOP or
execution. The state of Pennsylvania has in fact not executed anyone in
25 years.
