Regular readers will know that from time to time I have written about the trials and tribulations of the Stockton Unified School District and how they seem to spend a lot of time and money doing shit that is either stupid or downright illegal.

AngelAnn Flores was until recently the President of the District Board.  She is still a member of that board.  She is also a guest of the people at the San Joaquin County Jail, at least until Monday.  She was arrested for fraud, theft, embezzlement and insurance fraud, the last item not being related to her gig with the district.

Back in 2023 Traci Miller, interim Schools Superintended of San Joaquin County, contacted the Sheriff's Office and informed them that she had reason to believe Ms. Flores (possibly among others) was engaging in financial shenanigans within the scope of her office.  The district's chief business office person, Joann Juarez, also had some concerns that she passed on to the Sheriff.

Five months ago the S.O. raided Ms. Flores' office and seized some electronics and some paper as well.

An audit of expenditures concluded that Ms. Flores'  non-compliance with the district's credit card policy was "intentional, egregious and clearly for personal gain."  Apparently she liked having the district pay for her gasoline and groceries.

There is still a local, state and federal investigation running on to very serious contract approval "discrepancies" with the SUSD.
