THE MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD CREDO

Egypt is once again in turmoil. The thousands demonstrating in Cairo’s Tahrir Square are demanding the immediate transfer of power from Egypt’s ruling military to a civilian government. Parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held next week and the Muslim Brotherhood is expected to win a majority of the seats.

Middle East experts are suggesting that in order to keep the Muslim Brotherhood from gaining control of Egypt’s government, the elections should be postponed. But the Obama administration is urging the military to let the elections proceed as schedule.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland told reporters: "The best hope for democracy in Egypt is for these elections to go forward, for the people to express themselves through the ballot box, and then for the process of democratization to move forward in Egypt. We've been very clear with the SCAF [the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, Egypt's ruling body] that that's what we want to see."

This is the official Muslim Brotherhood credo: ALLAH IS OUR OBJECTIVE; THE QURAN IS OUR CONSTITUTION; THE PROPHET IS OUR LEADER; JIHAD IS OUR WAY; AND DEATH FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH IS THE HIGHEST OF OUR ASPIRATIONS.

When the Obama administration calls for next week’s elections to proceed as scheduled, it is in effect supporting the Muslim Brotherhood credo, a credo that encourages Jihad and [death for the sake of Allah] suicide bombings.
