Governor Brown has intervened to halt the parole of a notorious murderer from SoCal.
Paul Crowder, now 39, has been doing 15 to life for murdering Berylin Cosman, a 4.0 student with a college basketball scholarship. The young lady was gunned down on the night of her high school prom. Crowder brought alcohol and two firearms to the prom party at a hotel in Anaheim in 1991. Crowder got drunk, started waiving the guns around, and got angry when Cosman wouldn’t let him crash in her room. Later that night he shot her in her bed as she slept, then fled. He claimed it was an accident. The jury didn’t buy it.
Arnold also overturned the parole board on this guy last year, but a court invalidated that action and returned the matter for further consideration. The parole board again found him suitable for parole. Crowder’s family says they will sue again. Just what we need, more drunken violent assholes on the streets.
