TEXAS, HERE WE COME

Wednesday’s Houston Chronicle reported that according to the U.S. Census, more than 363,000 Californians moved to Texas over the past five years, helping the state to grow more than twice as fast as the nation as a whole since 2000. They left California for jobs and for a lower cost of living.

I just hope those transplanted Californians aren’t going to be like those job seekers who came to Texas from Michigan during an economic downturn in the 1970s. Once they got here all they did was to complain about how awful Texas was. Those people from Michigan were like hemorrhoids – a real pain in the ass after they moved down and the pain didn’t go away until they moved back up north.
