Two days ago President Trump signed an executive order which prohibits immigration by many people who can not clearly demonstrate that they will not become a medical burden on the taxpayers. This does not affect refugees but does affect people who are trying to enter the country on a standard visa who are the parents or spouses of persons who are already U S citizens. They have to demonstrate that they have or can quickly and effectively obtain insurance or have sufficient financial means to cover their own health care.
This new requirement kicks in November 3.
