SCARCE, VALUABLE COMMODITIES

by Bob Walsh

CCW permits are very scarce indeed in most of the liberal Mecca that is the greater San Francisco Bay area.  In many of the counties there gun permits numbered in the dozens in the whole county, mostly to good friends, family members or major political contributors.

Yesterday a Santa Clara County Sheriff's captain, a gun parts manufacturer and two local lawyers were indicted for felony bribery and conspiracy charges in a scheme to essentially buy those scare commodity items.

Captain James Jensen, Christopher Schumb (lawyer), Harpaul Nahal (lawyer) and Michael Nichols (local businessman) are looking at charges of conspiring with A. S. Solution, Inc. (an international security operation) to cough up $90,000 to get CCW permits for the companies 12 or so executive protection agents.

The D.A.'s investigation began shortly after the 2018 election, when a local weekly fish wrapper, the Metro Silicon Valley, started inquiring into the correlation between campaign contributions and CCW permits.

Part of the conspiracy involved Captain Jensen allegedly advising the employees to place corporate addresses on their permit applications as they were not residents of Santa Clara County.

The D A took some paints to note that neither the Sheriff, Laurie Smith, who won a tight re-election contest in 2018, nor the corporation, had been indicted.  The D A also noted that the investigation was far from complete.

There are less gun permits here in Arizona than there used to be as well. But that's because Arizona no longer requires them. Any non felon adult (with a very few exceptions) can carry concealed here.

Not a lot of gun involved crime in Arizona either. At least...nothing like what west coast liberals insist would happen with unregulated legal carry.

Just another reason why I left California the week after I retired and never looked back. Gun permits? We don't NEED no stinking gun permits.

As long as a license or permit is controlled there will be those who will try to profit.
