ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY

On June 18, 1812, President Madison signed the declaration of war against the United Kingdom.  Many Americans wanted the U.S. to invade Canada and seize territory.  It didn't work out that way.

On June 18, 1815, The Duke of Wellington had a good day, but Napoleon Bonaparte had a real bad day at Waterloo.

On June 18, 1883, Dr. Sally Ride became the first U S woman in space.
