Okemah, Oklahoma is now without
it's Chief of Police and most of it's police department. Patrick
Williams WAS the chief of police. He said in an interview with the
Tulsa World that he was sacked along with two other officers and two
additional officers reassigned as the result of a meeting with city
officials.
The triggering
incidents were apparently the firing of an officer over a FaceBook post
and the rejection on probation of a school resources officer. The
chief was (allegedly) fired due to his refusing to respond to
work-related phone calls on his personal telephone after regular
business hours.
There are
currently four officers still on the force. The State A.G. is
supplying police services to the teeming metropolis of Okemah in the
interim.
The fired officer
is said to have removed a "code enforcement" officer from private
property at the property owners request. The "code enforcment officer"
is (allegedly) not certified as such and is also the sister of the city
manager.
It is further alleged that the excrement hit the air conditioning device when the Okemah cops voted to unionize.
