Yesterday the maybe final chapter of the Christina Corpus
saga began to play out in a public hearing before the San Mateo County
Board of Supervisors. The board is serving as an administrative hearing
body to determine whether the Sheriff will retain her job. Since they
already voted a month or so ago to kick her out they will probably
ratify their own previous decision.
The
people who are seriously watching this mess assert that the hearing
will take about two weeks. A judge will have the semi-final say. The
final final say will rest with the board. Retired San Mateo County
Judge James Emerson is running the hearing.
A
lot of the beef with Sheriff Corpus is her funding of her possibly
totally unqualified boy toy into a very highly paid job with the S.O.
The
judge will have as much as 45 days to reach his decision, after which
the Board of Supervisors will vote to uphold or overturn his decision.
By Halloween this mess should be over one way or another.
