SHAME ON THE POLITICALLY CORRECT PENTAGON

The Rev. Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham, had been invited to be the principal speaker for a National Day of Prayer ceremony at the Pentagon on May 6th.

But now the Army has rescinded the invitation because immediately after the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Graham said Islam "is a very evil and wicked religion." In a later Wall Street Journal op-ed piece, Graham wrote that he did not believe Muslims were evil because of their faith, but "as a minister . . . I believe it is my responsibility to speak out against the terrible deeds that are committed as a result of Islamic teaching."

An objection to Graham’s appearance had been raised by Mikey Weinstein, president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, because of the past remarks he made about Islam. Weinstein said the invitation offended Muslim employees at the Pentagon and would endanger American troops by stirring up Muslim extremists.

Army spokesman Col. Tom Collins said Graham's remarks were "not appropriate." He explained that "We're an all-inclusive military. We honor all faiths. Our message to our service and civilian work force is about the need for diversity and appreciation of all faiths."

What a crock of shit! The real reason Graham was disinvited was because his remarks were not politically correct. What he said about Islam is absolutely true.

Islam is a religion whose central tenet is hate! Saudi Arabia's government schools refer to Christians and Jews as enemies of Muslims, equate Christians to swine and Jews to apes, and urge the faithful to spread the faith by waging jihad against Christians and Jews. Passages in the Quran advocate the forced conversion of infidels throughout the world and call for "death to the infidels."

If you recall, the Pentagon refused to concede that Major Nidal Hassan was acting as an Islamic terrorist when he shot his fellow soldiers at Fort Hood because it did not want to offend any Muslims. Never mind that Hassan had been filled with hatred by the teachings of Muslim clerics.

So Graham’s appearance might have offended some Muslims. So what! I am offended when Muslims equate me to an ape. And I am sure that my good Christian friends are offended when they are equated to swine. Graham’s remarks about Islam did not justify the disinvitation. Shame on the politically correct Pentagon!
