George Zimmerman was a jerk for getting out of his car and following Travpm Martin when the 911 dispatcher suggested he not do so. And it was stupid of him to be conducting a neighborhood watch while armed. Every police agency in the country - even those here in hard-nosed Texas - instruct their neighborhood watch groups not to be armed because they do not want those volunteers to play cops and robbers. Whatever grief Zimmerman is suffering and will continue to suffer, he brought on himself by his stupidity.
If Zimmerman's version is true, he should never have been charged with any crime. Stupidity is not against the law! And 'stand your ground' should be a non-issue because if Martin was pounding his head into the cement, Zimmerman had a right to use deadly force to keep from being severely injured or killed.
I think the charge of second degree murder had much to do with the demand by Trayvon’s supporters for ‘justice’ and the fear that if Zimmerman would not be arrested and prosecuted, the uproar would turn into Rodney King II. And what will happen if Zimmerman is absolved because of ‘stand your ground’ or if he is acquitted by a jury? Don’t worry, on both counts that is not about to happen what with Sharpton and his hounds howling “No Justice, No Peace.”
HATE TO BE A JUDGE IN SEMINOLE COUNTY RIGHT NOW

Trayvon’s death is very sad. A handsome seventeen year old walking home is now dead. I have a teenage son who can mouth off and act impulsively. He could get himself in trouble one day. Or not. On the other hand, there is evidence to suggest Zimmerman acted in self-defense: a broken nose, cries for help and alleged statement that Martin was sitting on top of Zimmerman.
What is for certain is that Zimmerman will not get the due process that American defendants are entitled to. If I was a sitting judge in Seminole county and I got the draw to hear Zimmerman’s Stand Your Ground pre-trial hearing, I would flee, resign or recuse myself.
The poor soul who hears this case must be prepared to receive death threats, hate mail, even assault. The jurist may have to move out of his community, get police protection, and pull her kids from their schools if she rules in Zimmerman’s favor. And that’s the problem here. NO Judge can put aside his or her personal feelings when they stand to have their lives irreparably changed based on one ruling.
Let’s assume Zimmerman puts in medical records showing a broken nose, lacerations on the head due to impact with concrete and an eyewitness testifies that Martin was sitting on top of him. Another witness states Zimmerman was crying for help. Theoretically, the Judge could dismiss the case and Zimmerman would face no criminal nor civil liability. Ain’t going to happen here. Not when a sitting President has demanded Justice for the victim and protest marches and petitions are rampant.
Hate to be the Judge who gets this one. And where is the Justice in that?

If Mr. Zimmerman is lucky he can get a judge only trial from a judge who is about to retire and will be semi-immune from the immense pressure that this trial would place on that judge. Otherwise he may be in deep kimchi.
My guess Bob, is it's going to be the latter.
