David Gregory, the host of the long-running NBC program Meet the Press, is under investigation by the DC police for violation of DC gun control laws. While interviewing Wayne LaPierre of the NRA Gregory displayed what was apparently a 30-round AR magazine. Under the District’s strict gun control laws mere physical possession of a high-capacity magazine is a serious criminal offense.
The DC cops have confirmed an investigation is under way. NBC has declined to comment.
Anybody remember about 15 years ago a private citizen was arrested near the Senate office building in possession of firearms, including a fully automatic Uzi. He was a private body-guard working for the Kennedy family. He was kicked loose and his firearms, including his machine gun, were returned to him and his arrest was voided.
Anybody really think anything bad is going to happen to David Gregory here? Anybody?
By the way, according to the Weekly Standard, Gregory sends his children to Sidwell Friends school, which has an 11-member security staff not counting the Secret Service there because the Obama children go there. Can you spell Hypocritical Slug?
