It would seem that a group of “jail guards” in Santa Clara County are about to get bit on the ass big time for conspicuous stupidity. Among them is the head of their union.
You might remember that a prisoner died in the main jail there recently under highly dubious circumstances and that three correctional officers are being prosecuted in that death.
While going over an officer’s phone, seized as part of an internal investigation, the S O has found a string of very nasty racist messages and images apparently swapped back and forth between a number of their staff. One of the jail deputies being looked into is a “known associate” of the Hell’s Angels motorcycle club.
Lance Seimeca is the head of their union, he is assigned to a different jail complex and is not involved directly in the death investigation. It seems, however, that he liberally threw in racist and offensive references in messaging with his colleagues.
Most of this messaging does not appear to be criminal in nature as it does not explicitly incite illegal behavior. The Sheriff has, however, stated she intends to sack those involved. The words “nigger” “gook” and “kike” liberally spice these messages.
The Officer’s Union lawyer has voiced the opinion that the S O has deliberately leaked information from this internal investigation to paint the officers in an unfavorable light.
