LOCAL MAN DOES GOOD DEED

by Bob Walsh

Jack Shields is a denizen of Stockton. He is also a pretty well known MMA fighter. A few days ago he was present, with his girlfriend, at UC Berkeley when the riot broke out in protest of a conservative speaker. Shieids saw a pack of cowardly, masked assholes attack and start pummeling a man who seemed to be a Trump supporter. He also saw the cops standing around with their thumbs up their butts so he jumped in to rescue the man from the mob. His girlfriend recorded the aftermath of the mess and it has been posted to the internet where it is very popular viewing.

After his rescue move the situation got really, really stupid and the cops were refusing to intervene to help people so Shields and his gf beat feet.

Under some circumstances I would say that Shields might face some legal problems. This is California after all. However, rescuing a man being pummeled by a masked mob while the cops do jack shit is probably a worthwhile thing and even the liberal asswipes that run California might have a hard time making much of this.

If I had been assaulted by masked protesters while the cops did nothing but watch, I would sue their asses. I would go to trial and have each one of the worthless piece of shits recite their oath of office in front of the jury.

Anon, it is clear that the cops in Berkeley were under orders not to interfere with the rioters. It was the same with the New York cops at NYU. Under the guise of free speech, college students and their professors are free to prevent conservatives guest speakers from giving their presentation and to throw rocks and bottles at the cops, to break police car windows, set fires, break store windows and, yes, assault those that are seen as opposing their viewpoints.

This is 21st Century policing.

I once worked an extra job at a skating rink. The owner came up to me and told me to enforce a house rule. I said no. I was there to preserve the peace and enforce the law. I was not going to tell someone they couldn't hold hands as they were skating. I was fired.

Later in my career I told two police officers that they were not doing their job when working an extra job in a bar. They allowed drunks and minors to be served by sitting in the club office and turning a blind eye to violations. They told me that cops were reactive not proactive. They were really two lazy pricks prostituting their badge to protect an extra job.

I'm not saying cops don't have discretion to make or not make an arrest, just don't abuse your oath of office.

Rumor mill says the FBI is investigating the Mayor of Berkeley for inciting to riot because he (allegedly) order the Berkeley P D SWAT team, which was on the scene near-by and read to move, to stand down. That, however, could be complete internet B.S.
