Late Monday, Rep. John Lewis (D-Georgia) came out with a news release announcing that the Atlanta Falcons actually won the Super Bowl. This assertion is based on the fact that Atlanta was ahead in three of the four quarters of the game and that therefore, by the Social Justice theory, they should be declared the winner rather than the Patriots, who merely got the most points by the end of the game.
"I don't see the Patriots as a legitimate winner of the Super Bowl," said Lewis. The civil rights icon added, "The Falcons got more points for three quarters of the game."
Thus far neither the NFL or the Patriots have commented on the record. Off the record, they said "Fuck that shit."
