It seems, based on the investigation so far, that the sad and demented asshole that shot up the church in Sutherland Springs, TX. was engaged in some sort of family beef and hated his mother-in-law. Therefore, like any other sad asshole he went to the church wearing body armor and a mask and shot the place up, killing 26 and injuring 20 others.
He stopped his deadly rampage after being fired on by a good-guy private citizen (armed with a dreaded AR). He was wounded, fled the scene, crashed his vehicle and shot and killed himself.
The knee-jerk liberal assholes are already blaming the gun(s). It appears that he owned four guns legally, including the guns he had with him at the time of this incident. He may, or may not, have a Dishonorable Discharge from the military which, if correct, should have prohibited him from legally buying firearms. He also had an outstanding protection order against him and maybe had a domestic violence conviction. Either of those should have prohibited him from owning weapons legally.
EDITOR'S NOTE: There seems to be some confusion in the media. Most reports say he received a 'Bad Conduct' discharge.
