SFPD SUED OVER FATAL SHOOTING BY ROOKIE COP

by Bob Walsh

The mother of a dead 42-year old carjacker is (of course) suing the SFPD over the death of her dear, beloved, kind and misunderstood son. A lawyer named Burris, whose primary practice is suing police officers and departments, is calling the death an "execution" and a "deliberate murder."

The shooter was a rookie cop. The papers said he had been a cop for four days which is obvious horsecrap as it takes five MONTHS to get thru the academy. He had maybe been on the street for four days. He was with his FTO when they pursued a California Lottery van that had just been jacked. The dead idiot drove into a dead end street, bailed out and ran...TOWARD the police car. The rookie cop drew his weapon while still seated in the car and fired thru the closed window (that must have hurt the ears) killing the carjacker. The bad guy, Keita O'Neil, was not armed.

Neither officer had their body cams on. That is a violation of policy. However the officer, Christopher Samayoa, activated his immediately after he fired and since they have a 30 second back-loop the shooting was recorded. Since this just happened less than three weeks ago the D.A. is still investigating. There was also apparently other video available, possible from the dashcam. The footage has been released. without comment, to the public in the interest of transparency.
