Have you ever heard one of those stories where you say, "That may be true, but...." ?
There was an interesting shooting in Stockton Thursday evening. If the "suspect" is to be believed he just happened to leave a loaded handgun laying on a bed and a 16-year old girl just happened to come into the bedroom and just happened to flop down on the bed and the gun just happened to discharge and shot her.
Chakra Sou, 20, told this tale to the local constabulary. Nice thing about this story is that, if true, there will be loads of forensic evidence to support it. In the meantime Sou is a guest of the county facing charges of child endangerment, obstructing an official police investigation and criminal storage of a firearm.
It will be interesting to see if his story actually holds up. Since one of the charges is obstruction, I am guessing probably not, but you never know. Some people lie to the cops out of habit when the truth would actually suit better.
