HOUSTON - A Houston Police Department officer is in hot water after he was recorded while apparently taking a photo of a woman's butt at a Drake concert in Houston.
The video recently surfaced and shows the officer with his phone out and taking a photo of the woman.
HPD Chief Acevedo responded to the incident.
“We get paid to be at these events to make sure that things are safe, no threats and keep the peace. Obviously that is not the conduct we are looking for and whether he is being paid by the tax payer or the venue that is not what he is there for,” he said.
According to the woman who posted the video, she alerted the victim about the photo.
While no formal complaint has been filed, Acevedo said the department launched an internal investigation and determine what, if any action, will be taken.
“There will be an internal investigation and we will see what he has to about what he was doing and why he was doing it,” Acevedo said. “We want our officers alert. We want them focusing on the mission and we want them focusing on safety."
HPD responded in a series of tweets.
We are aware of a video that shows actions of one of our officers at a concert last evening. Although HPD has not received a formal complaint, we have launched an internal investigation.
The actions depicted on the video are not consistent with the expectations we have for our personnel. Upon completion of the investigation, the department will take any and all corrective action.
EDITOR’S NOTE: The video clearly shows sergeant’s stripes on the officer’s sleeves. Even though he did not break any law, look for HPD to take away his stripes.

Yep. I hope he gets the pic made into a poster at Walgreens photo department. Those stripes are in the Chief's crosshairs.
At first I couldn't figure this out until it became obvious he was ON DUTY and IN UNIFORM when he did this. That is a legitimate beef.
