Christopher Wadsworth was formerly the Chief Psychiatrist at San Quentin Prison. He just won $822,000 from the formerly great state of California in a whistle-blower suit.
He asserts that he was subjected to harassment after he warned officials that a change in mental health protocols was a significant contribution to an inmate suicide back in 2014. He asserts that he warned that a plan to restrict the number of acute crisis beds would endanger inmates and was likely a violation of a court agreement with the feds.
Wadsworth transferred to Folsom. At one point the state was ready to cough up $2.6 million but Wadsworth had a beef with his attorney that somehow led to that deal falling apart.
