CalFire has determined that problems with Pacific Gas & Electric equipment and it's interaction with the environment was responsible for most of the horrible fires in California recently. Thanks to a going-away present from Jerry Brown that means the PGE RATE PAYERS and not share holders will be on the hook for billions.
In response, PGE recently announced a policy change, which first was implemented two days ago. PGE has begun to de-energize power lines in areas where they could cause fires, especially in response to major wind events. They cut off power in many areas of seven foothill counties. The locals are sometimes screaming, demanding compensation for spoiled food and other stuff.
Sometimes you just can't win.
