SO, IS THE PRINCIPAL A THIEF ?

by Bob Walsh

Audrey Silverman is a teacher at the Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School in Miami. She is a very proficient and much-liked teacher and teaches English, including advanced honors program classes. One of her favorite texts is a couple of years out of date, but the English language has not changed that much in the last couple of years and she is very happy with the contents, including Poe and Shakespeare.

It seems that a few days ago the principal entered her classroom when she was not there and removed ALL of the text books, including her personally purchased and extensively hand annotated teachers copy.

The school has recently moved to e-books, but Ms. Silverman has maintained the hard-copy books which she likes, the students like and are already owned by the school. Ms. Silverman is not alone in her dislike for the new etext. Other teachers within the district also maintain and use hard copy books.

One of the problem with the etexts is that they are updated every year, making the teachers notes obsolete. Kind of like Shakespeare and Poe I guess.

If I were her I would file a theft complaint against the principal over the personally owned text book. But I am a known shit-stirrer.

EDITOR'S NOTE: You old shit stirrer, you'd get Ms. Silverman fired.
