The City of Davis, CA. lost a promising young police officer. Natalie Cornoa, 22, was a rookie officer driving a solo unit and responded to a three-car crash in the city of Davis in the evening hours. She was shot to death while on that call.
The cops issued a "Shelter In Place" order for the local area, including the University of CA at Davis. They located a suspect fairly quickly and attempted to get him to vacate the house he was in. Instead he self-rehabilitated.
The shooters identity has not yet been released. At this time the cops are not saying if he was involved in the car crash or not.
Officer Corona comes from a law enforcement family. She had only been on the job a few weeks. I am not sure having that green an officer out by herself is smart, even in a relatively peaceful city like Davis, but that is a conversation for another day.

RIP, Officer Corona.
As it turns out she was ambushed, shot in the back repeatedly, by someone who was a bystander and not involved in the immediate situation. He also fired on a lot of other people present at the scene, including one firefighter, who caught a bullet in the boot but was not injured.
The officer had been a CSO before being a cop with Davis and her dad is as retired Colusa County deputy. She had recently started solo patrol after a period with an FTO.
President Trump has had absolutely nothing to say about the horrific execution of this officer. I wonder why? Is she any less dead than officer Singh killed by the illegal immigrant in Stanislaus county?
