Fervent Republican James Woods has called Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez 'the most dangerous woman in America' in a post on Twitter.
Tweeting a picture of the young Democratic congresswoman on Thursday, Oscar nominated Woods, 71, wrote: 'This is the most dangerous person in America right now. Ignore her at your peril...'
He later tweeted 'as the inmates attempt to escape the asylum...' along with a picture of Ocasio-Cortez.
Woods' tweet came just hours after 29-year-old Ocasio Cortez's maiden speech to the House - which instantly became C-SPAN's most viewed Twitter video ever for a representative.
As of Friday morning it had 2.3million views.
Ocasio-Cortez used her first speech to the House floor to blast Donald Trump over the partial government shutdown which is nearing its fourth week.
'The truth of this shutdown is that it's actually not about a wall,' Ocasio-Cortez said Thursday.
'The truth is, this shutdown is about the erosion of American democracy and the subversion of our most basic governmental norms.'
Woods has posted a number of tweets about Bronx born Ms Ocasio-Cortez in recent months. In one he appeared to call her 'the phony 'Bronx' socialist' and in another he used the hashtag GuffawingNumbskull to refer to the lawmaker.
Currently, the representative has 2.46million followers on Twitter and another 1.8million on Instagram.
Her platform continues to increase as Ocasio-Cortez woos new followers with her nifty videos and social media presence.
A recent Rasmussen Reports poll even found that if next year's election was between President Donald Trump and Ocasio-Cortez, 43 percent would pick the president while 40 percent would vote for Ocasio-Cortez.
She now also has more power on Twitter than any of her party members- including former President Barack Obama.
Ms Ocasio-Cortez has also generated more interactions - retweets plus likes - on the social media site than party leaders Obama, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer.
On Thursday morning she tweeted: 'Class was in session this morning! I was thrilled to offer some insights on Twitter and social media to my. colleagues this morning. Now Majority @WhipClyburn is teaching me what all the bells mean in the Capitol.'
Fox News host Laura Ingraham said Thursday Democratic lawmakers 'are all going to have to kiss Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's ring'.
She said: 'The [Democratic] base that we pointed out last night, it's moving everybody to the left. You have a few moderates, Steny Hoyer and a few others, but not many. They are all going to have to kiss Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's ring.
'In one way or another, they're going to kiss the ring and she's only been in town for seven days. That's pretty amazing.'
But as Ocasio-Cortez continues her journey into the D.C. political world, she has also gained a substantial base of obsessive haters.
Woods' post on Twitter to his nearly 2million followers received a great deal of attention on social media, and was 'liked' nearly 13,000 times.
Replying to his tweet calling Ocasio-Cortez dangerous one person wrote: 'I agree. Second are the people that voted for her.'
Another added: 'The danger is real.'
Ocasio-Cortez has already hit back at the 'scrutiny' she faces on online, saying it makes 'uneasy' and it 'stressful and scary' .
After one site posted a fake nude photo claiming to show the congresswoman in a bath, she said: 'Women in leadership face more scrutiny. Period.'
She has also defended herself on Twitter, saying she 'chose to define myself instead of allowing them to take that away from me. And that's why they're mad.'
Veteran actor Woods has said in the past that being a conservative in Hollywood has made it difficult for him in recent years to find roles.
He called Donald Trump 'the voice of the American people' and has made no secret of his support for the president.
In October 2017, the two-time Oscar nominee and three-time Emmy Award winner claimed that he has been 'blacklisted' by the liberal Hollywood elites, driving him to the brink of retirement from acting.
'While #Liberals scream about the 50's blacklist, my #Repub actor friends are terrified of losing their ability to provide for their families,' he once tweeted.
Woods is best known for his roles in Ghosts of Mississippi, Salvador and Videodrome. Over the past five years, he has mostly done voice work on animated shows and video games.
Last year he claimed to have been dropped by his 'liberal' agent, Ken Kaplan, over his political views.
The staunch Trump supporter told the president to 'unleash the dogs of war' in February.
He wrote on Twitter: 'Dear Mr. President, when will you get a Department of Justice with teeth? Voter fraud, criminal 'sanctuary' hideouts, mass illegal invasion, the opioid epidemic, gang murders, drug cartels are all rotting the soul of our blessed America. Unleash the dogs of war, sir. It is time.'
In August he wrote: 'I've never witnessed such hatred for a man who is willing to work for free to make his beloved country a better place. It is pathological.'
He was banned by Twitter over a tweet found to be in violation of the site's rules.
The post included a hoax meme that said it came from Democrats and encouraged men not to vote in the midterm elections.
Woods got an email from Twitter saying the tweet 'has the potential to be misleading in a way that could impact an election.'
In 2016 he quit the site over what he called 'censorship'.
Outspoken Ocasio-Cortez has been vocal in her condemnation of the government shutdown.
On Wednesday she was among four Democrats to march through congress and demand Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell hold a vote to reopen the government.
He seems to be running away from us,' said New York lawmaker Ocasio-Cortez, the youngest female member of Congress in history, as she paced through the Capitol.
The Bronx-born progressive later started the hashtag #WheresMitch as they struggled to find McConnell.
She is expected to increase scrutiny of big banks, lending and the financial sector when she takes up her new role on the House Financial Services Committee to help regulate Wall Street.
Ms Ocasio-Cortez has previously called for a 70 per cent top tax rate and for the biggest banks to be broken up.

Ms Ocasio-Cortez needs to move to Venezuela.
AOC is a dangerous psychopath who believes her own bullshit.
What's even scary than her is the fact that she was so easily elected.
