Police in NYC announced that seven people were shot in an unlicensed, illegal gambling club over the weekend. This is obviously bullshit because everybody knows that criminals obey gun laws and criminals can't get guns so this didn't happen. MORE FAKE NEWS.

I was called to a juke joint just outside of La Porte, Texas on a gambling complaint. It was a very popular club mainly patronized by blacks. On Saturday nights you could always find a lively dice game. My partner and I entered and 4 was the point to make. The shooter had covered all bets and folks were hollering "roll!" Now 4 is a hard number to hit and lots of money was on the floor. My partner said, "Game over." I thought we were going to have a fucking riot. Seeing the unhappy crowd, my partner said, "OK, one last roll." Then he told me that the shooter wouldn't make his point and threw $5 on the floor. The crowd went wild because the cop had joined the game. The shooter made the 4. The game closed. The shooter was slapping my partner on the back saying, "Thank you, Mr. Policeman!" I gave the bartender a verbal warning about keeping a gaming place and we got the Hell out of there. That was how community policing used to be done.
