The
Stockton, Oakland and L.A. unified school districts each maintain their
own police departments. This allows them to be proactive rather than
reactive. All three districts are currently seriously looking at
totally disbanding their police departments. They MAY put the funding,
if that happens, into hiring more social workers to intervene in
problems. Or not.
According
to the media freaks each of these proposals has a serious possibility
of passing. It is very likely if that occurs that the only police
presence at schools will be reactive, after the excrement has already
hit the air circulation device.
Gee,
if schools are such pastoral, peaceful places I wonder why the
districts started up their own police departments in the first place?

Doesn't matter whether or not it's effective Bob. It's how it makes liberals FEEL that counts.
Since Stockton was on the receiving end of one of the very first serious school shooting incidents at the Cleveland School one would think they would have more sense. One would perhaps be in error.
