The Wilmington, NC P D just fired three veteran cops for conspicuous stupidity.
That
department has cameras in the cars with recording of video and audio.
The footage is reviewed from time to time by supervisors just to check
on things. Presumably the cops are aware of this.
Corporal
Jesse Moore and Officers James Gilmore and Kevin Piner apparently had
more than one discussion in or around one of their vehicles where they
openly discussed "slaughtering niggers" and roundly criticized BLM, some
black officers and talked of a civil war, presumably race based.
We
don't pay cops to be stupid. Having shitty and stupid attitudes about
race is one thing. Openly expressing those attitudes, while you are on
the job and in uniform, in an environment where you KNOW you are likely
being recorded is just plain damn stupid.

My partner and I drove around for an hour before we realized we hadn't shut off the interior recorder. We drove back to the office and asked the supervisor to delete it. He did. The recording had several awfully funny dirty jokes on it and some discussion about putting meth in a bowl and setting out on a road near a wanted felons residence sort of like a Roadrunner cartoon. The supervisor said, "Don't say anything in this unit that the Sheriff, a Priest and your Mother can't listen to." Now most PD's automatically download the recordings as you pull into the unit yard.
Just a window into how pretty much all cops think...
Yep. It was pretty dull after that.
