The California Air Resources
Board (CARB) is a very powerful, unelected pack of bureaucrats. It
appears they are about to ban the sales of new large diesel trucks in CA
effective 2036 and will order existing trucks off the road by 2042.
Unless
the state of the art approved remarkably in the next 12 years this will
cause serious problems. Battery packs do not supply nearly the amount
of power per weight that diesel fuel does. You could very well end up
with a 40 ton payload actually being 20 tons of batteries and 20 tons of
whatever. Wonder what that will due to consumer costs? Of course the
true believers don't give a shit. After all, IT'S FOR THE PLANET. Fuck
the people who live on the planet.
