Regular readers will note that I have written several
times recently about investigations into the operations of the Stockton
Unified School District. Those items looked at have included failure to
follow procedure and the law concerning business operations, especially
procurement, personnel irregularities and other issues. In addition
the district appears to have been pissing away money for years and is on
the verge of being taken over by the state.
The
San Joaquin County District Attorney announced this morning that his
office has opened a criminal investigation into the district. The
previous investigations have been primarily civil and administrative.
The FBI is part of the investigation as you can not swing a dead cat in a
school office without hitting something tied to federal money, hence
the federal nose under the tent flap. It does not pay to fuck with the
feds (unless your name is Biden). They have no sense of humor.
