ENTERTAINMENT REVIEW

By Bob Walsh

Deadloch First Look Released by Prime Video

A couple of days ago I was bored out of my gourd and cruised Amazon Prime for something to watch.  I stumbled across DEADLOCH.  It may, or may not, be a police drama set in Tasmania, where at least they sort-of speak English.

Opening scene.  Two young women walking on a beach.  One stops walking.  The other one continues 2-3 steps, then trips and falls.  She lands more or less face down on top of a face-up dead naked white guy.  She drops her cigarette.  It sets his pubic hair on fire.  She tries to slap the fire out with her hands.  Her buddy pukes, probably on top of the body.  That wasn't completely clear.

I am now half-way into the first episode and I still have not figured out if it is a drama, a comedy, a farce or a junior high school film project.

There is also a large sea lion named Kevin who munches on the faces of human bodies.

Did I mention it is a fairly strange program?  It's fairly strange.  I may even continue to watch it just to see what happens next.
