AOC has warned the public about false information
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has warned the public: "If you see a claim, photo, or video that triggers a strong emotional reaction, take a moment to pause and check for veracity/confirmation from multiple sources,"
Good advice!
But less than a week
later, Ilhan Omar posted a picture of dead children she claimed were
killed by the Israeli bombings of Gaza.
The
image that was reposted
by Ilhan Omar showed children
killed 10 years ago after a sarin gas attack by Syria's President Bashar
al-Assad. Omar claimed they were children in Gaza killed by the Israeli
bombings.
Omar appeared at a press conference outside Capitol Hill where she accused Israel of committing a war crime alongside other members of the 'Squad' including Representatives Ayanna Pressley (left) and Summer Lee (right)
Actually, the picture Omar posted was not of children killed in Gaza. It was a picture of children killed 10 years ago in Syria after a sarin gas attack by Syria's President Bashar al-Assad.
Omar labeled her false post "Child Genocide in Palestine."
After it became known that the image was actually taken 10 years ago ... guess what ... Omar removed the picture.
Omar has not apologized or made any comment about posting the false information.

I expect that somebody else gave her the photo and told her the story and rather than doing any sort of fact checking or checking on the image itself she just bought the bullshit and released the story and photo believing them to be the real deal. Then when she found she allowed herself to be used (useful idiot) she just pretended it didn't happen.
