No more of these correctional officers in California prisons
Gavin GOD I WANT TO BE PRESIDENT Newsom, the God-Emperor
of the formerly great state of California, has announced that, as part
of the conversion of San Quentin State Prison to a rehabilitative haven
for criminals, that he wants more friendly prison guards.
Among
other things Newsom believes the guards should regular interact with
prisoners about how the prisoners families are doing and what their
favorite sports teams are.
The
156 page report of the San Quentin Transformational Advisor Council
also wants to end double celling at the prison and improve the (very
limited) on grounds housing for staff at the prison. The report asserts
that the current "prison guards" (actually correctional officers)
should be retrained as "community correctional officers." They would be
retrained to "understand the traumatic life experiences common to
incarcerated people, substance abuse disorders, mental illness and anger
management." The "guards" who have suitable backgrounds would also be
utilized as vocational training instructors.
Isn't that special?
