Toyota announced today that there is no possibility
whatsoever that they will meet the CA mandate of 35% of their cars sold
in CA to be electric by next year.  Assuming they know what they are
talking about (and I am pretty confident they do) that sort of implies
that no other major manufacturer will be able to do so either.
The
question then becomes, What Next?  Will the state act in some way to
prevent those manufacturers who failed the text from selling cars in the
formerly great state of California?  The hard-core enviro-whackos would
be very happy to do that.  Most normal people would not.
I wonder what is going to happen when push comes to shove?
